Founded
in 1784, Clarksville is one of the South's
most historic cities. Visitors
and residents alike experience that history
through memorable attractions, unique architecture,
and a variety of festivals and events.
Today, as Tennessee's fastest growing city
behind only Memphis and Nashville, Clarksville
is proud to offer the best of both a rich
heritage and a vibrant city on the move.
A
mild climate with four distinct seasons,
a central location, and low cost of living,
are just a few of the reasons over 100,000
residents call Clarksville home... and
we're continually ranked as a top quality
community by publications like Reader's
Digest, Money Magazine, Demographics Journal,
Expansion Management, Forbes and
others.
Whether
you're planning a visit or event, building
a business, or relocating your home, we
know you'll find that Clarksville-Montgomery
County is an excellent choice.
Clarksville
is proud to welcome back the Miss Tennessee
USA® and Miss Tennessee Teen USA® pageants
for an ninth consecutive year.
Both
pageants will be held at Austin Peay
State University's Music and Mass Communications
Building, Oct. 4-6. "We're very
happy to have the Miss Tennessee USA
organization back for another year," said
Theresa Harrington, executive director
of the Clarksville-Montgomery County
Convention & Visitors Bureau.
At least 130 delegates and nearly 1,200 family and friends
are expected for both pageants - visitors that will spend an
estimated $305,500 on lodging, meals and transportation while
they're here.
Applications for both pageants are still being accepted. For
more information contact the Miss Tennessee USA pageant office
at 913.642.8989.
